I'm getting ready for a big trip, in dreams like this in the past I've always forgotten something mostly my passport, this time in the dream I specifically say that I have it, but then I realize I don't have any clothes packed or with me. I go back to the house on this weird old road and end up at my parents house, which has dogs that all have died in real life, and my father and a few other people I am close with but have all died. They are sitting around laughing and drinking and ask why I'm here, the dogs greet me with happy noises and I explain I forgot my clothes and worry I won't make my flight on time. then I wake up
Dreams about preparing for a trip can often symbolize transitions or new experiences in your life. The emphasis on forgetting items, particularly important ones like your passport or clothes, could suggest feelings of anxiety about being unprepared for upcoming changes or challenges. In this case, despite initially feeling prepared with your passport, the realization that you haven't packed clothes might indicate that while you feel ready on one level, there are other aspects of your life or emotions that you feel are incomplete or neglected.
Returning to your parents' house, especially a place filled with memories of those who have passed away, symbolizes a longing for comfort, security, or guidance during a time of uncertainty. The presence of the deceased loved ones and beloved dogs could reflect your desire to reconnect with your past, seek comfort from those who have provided support in your life, or possibly face unresolved feelings associated with loss and nostalgia. Their laughter and happiness suggest that you might be seeking warmth and reassurance from these memories.
The worry about missing your flight may represent a fear of time slipping away or not being able to seize opportunities as they arise. It could also symbolize a concern about not living up to expectations, whether those are self-imposed or from others.
Overall, this dream may encourage you to reflect on what you feel unprepared for in your life, to address any lingering feelings relating to loss, and to find ways to feel more grounded as you navigate transitions. It's a reminder to pack not just physically, but emotionally and mentally, for the journey ahead.
